Okay, so what's the Frank Miller filter, and is that supposed to be Alice? Well, let me explain.

While browsing a bit here and there on dA, as you do, I stumbled across a few works based on the Disney Alice in Wonderland movie. Really nice stuff, truly. Made me want to watch that movie again too after seeing them.

Now, when I first saw that flick as a kid, I found it rather upsetting. Poor Alice was just trying to get some directions, and everyone she spoke to was either all like "lol wut?" or "OMG ALL UR FAULT GTFO!!!1" I mean, back then - and to an extent, even now - most Disney movies never really had the antagonist, let alone randomly encountered strangers, shouting at the main character for no good reason. I can still remember wishing Alice would just eat a mushroom and then go all Godzilla on their sorry arses.
Watching the movie film again for the first time in several years, it still wasn't all sunshine and lollipops, if you know what I mean.

That brings me to this picture. It's been several years, and a grown up Alice finds herself back in Wonderland. It's still the same hostile hole it's always been under the surface, but this time she's prepared for any crap that gets thrown her way.

Yeah, I know it's not the most original idea ever. And I spent so long working on it that I really crossed the line into this-is-getting-lame-I-wish-it-would-just-end-already territory. Man, I gotta stop drawing stuff with stupidly boring backgrounds that take forever. So yeah, I'm not too happy with the way it turned out, I'm just glad it's over. >_>

Oh, and if you're wondering where the Dormouse is, he's passed out under the table having been drugged up to the eyeballs on whatever he's normally smoking. Freaking weirdo.
